Overview

Bulk edit lets you apply one change to many records at once, from a contacts, companies, or people list. Open it from the list view to get started.

Who Does This Apply To

Bulk edit gives you two scopes to choose from: The selected-records option only appears when you have records selected in the table.

What Should Change

You choose one action:

Updating a Custom Field

When you pick Update a custom field, choose the field from the list of custom fields on that view, then enter the new value. The input adapts to the field’s type:
  • Dropdown (single select): choose one option from the field’s list.
  • Dropdown (multi select): choose one or more options.
  • Number: digits only.
  • Date: pick a date from the date picker.
  • Text: free text, up to 1,000 characters.

Deleting Records

Deleting shows a confirmation warning and requires typing DELETE to confirm. Deleting cascades to related data:
  • Deleting companies also deletes their custom fields. Their contacts remain but lose their company association.
  • Deleting people also deletes every member contact of those people.
  • Deleting contacts also deletes their custom fields, emails, and LinkedIn messages.
Deletes are permanent and cannot be undone.

Inline vs Background Processing

Most bulk edits apply immediately (inline). When you choose All matching records and the number of matching records is larger than 20,000, RevyOps runs the edit as a background job instead. Bulk delete on the filtered scope is limited to 20,000 records at a time, above that you need to narrow your filters and delete in batches. While a background job runs, you can keep working. The list refreshes automatically once the job finishes.

Stale Scope Protection

If the number of matching records changes after you open the bulk edit panel (for example, because the underlying data changed), RevyOps flags the scope as stale before applying the change and asks you to review the updated count before continuing.
